Head of HP Research Lab Meets with 600 Researchers Individually

In a story in today’s San Jose Mercury News, Prith Banerjee, head of HP’s Research Lab states that he has begun meeting individually with each of the labs 600 researchers. He hopes this world-wide effort will identify the next big ideas. Whereas Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard used to wander the halls, Banerjee will wander the world to connect face to face with each researcher.

Banerjee knows, what the most effective managers know; one to one communication is the best way to connect with your people. His intent is to access their most innovative ideas. 1:1 meetings are also a great way to gather ideas on how to improve your services, safety or the organization in general. Meet regularly, whether face to face or virtual, and you will improve engagement, productivity, and quality.
